It's off of 54, like you suspect. It's all right: the drive actually isn't that bad and now that I have traffic patterns figured out, it's becoming routine.

Thanks for the bus info. I always forget they're there, when I should use them more often.

No, the buses aren't extremely convenient but I find them acceptably convenient if your home and workplace are serviced.

If the site's off Davis DR, you might be fine. However, if it's off NC 54 like I suspect, there's no service currently. (There might be service in that area in a year or two, at least partly due to the new Walmart on NC 54 on the north side of 540, but nothing now. All of the expansion efforts seem to be beyond Raleigh, like Wake Forest, Knightdale, Wendell, and Zebulon.)

Thanks for all the congratulations everyone. I'm thoroughly enjoying myself so far.

@Chris: Lenovo's offices are no longer in RTP (at least, where I work). They have three new buildings in Morrisville - right next to 540. I might have to look into the bus system, but I don't think it's super convenient.

Congratulations on the new job!

If you ever get tired of waiting for traffic on 540, you could look into using Triangle Transit for your commute. (Although this assumes that Lenovo's site is convenient to the bus system. Is Lenovo's RTP site still on IBM's campus or has it moved?)
